Oklahoma Hospitals Recognized at 2018 OPQIC Summit

The 5th Annual OPQIC Summit was held on November 16, 2018 at the Moore Norman Technology Center. More than 200 perinatal and public health providers from across the state were in attendance.  Nine hospitals received the Spotlight Hospital Award, and the Warren M. Crosby Champion for Maternal and Infant Health award was given to Tracie Anderson, MS. Information on the award winners and copies of the presentations are available at opqic.org/summit2018.

This year’s featured speaker was Neel Shah, MD, MPP who spoke about the Team Birth Project as a method to reduce unnecessary cesarean sections. Click here to find out more about the project.

This year OPQIC also offered a Pre-Summit on November 15th: Racial Disparities and Health Equity in Maternal and Infant Health: Let’s Start the Conversation. The Pre-Summit was facilitated by Terri Major-Kincade, MD, MPH. Resources for this event can be found at opqic.org/presummit.

Thank you so much for your engagement in the OPQIC activities to improve the health of Oklahoma’s mothers and infants.  We appreciate it greatly and are looking forward to next year!
